Well Spring has officially sprung! Spring Break was super fun at TLC. We took our school agers skating, to see "Mars Needs Moms" and to Mills Park. We ended the week with a kickball tournament and popcorn and movie day. What a great way to spend Spring Break! Bryant Schools are out on Thursday, March 31st and we will be offering full day care for those students. Our unit for the next few weeks is ANIMALS. We will start with Pets, then farm Animals, and finish with Zoo Animals. The children love this unit. The teachers have planned lessons and art projects that will fill our walls and boards with "wildlife"! Easter is coming up soon so be watching out for notes about our upcoming activities.

We are full into March and involved in our "All About Me" unit. it is such an intresting experience to watch children realize more about themselves and how unique each of them are. We have such a collection of wonderful little characters! Look at all of the artwork that the teachers are putting up...it is enlightening to see how they see themselves! This Thursday, March 17th, the Carebears will be attending "If You Give a Pig a Pancake" at the Arkansas Art Center. We are excited to see this story we love come to life on stage! Coming soon...information about The Learning Center's Relay for Life team. We will be walking on May 13th in honor of Ms. Sue, our baby room teacher that has been diagnosed with cancer. There will be a fundraiser and the ability for you to purchase luminaria in honor of Ms. Sue or a loved one of your own that has stuggled with cancer. Details to follow. looking forward to beginning a Spring season with all of our TLC families!

The children have truly enjoyed meeting all of the people in our community that help keep us safe and healthy! We hope to have passed on to them the respect and gratitude we feel for these everyday heroes. A huge THANK YOU to Bryant Fire Department, Saline Memorial Hospital and Bryant Police Department. We appreciate the time you spent educating and entertaining our children. If you haven't already, take a moment to stop by our bulletin board and see the photos of all of the children and our Community Helpers. This week the children further their study in the unit by learning about other people who help us, like Farmers, Teachers, Mail Carriers and Construction Workers. Coming up in the month of March is All About Me unit and Animals and Pet Units. It is so important for a child to have a strong sense of himself to truly learn about the world around him. We look forward to this insightful unit and the fun and learning involved in the Animal and Pet unit. So March has LOTS to look forward to! Don't Forget...Care Bear Field Trip March 17th to the Arkansas Art Center to see "If You Give a Pig a Pancake" .

TLC would love to thank all of generous parents for making the children's Valentines parties a roaring success! Your goodies made some happy tummies and the wonderful cards and gifts for the children and the staff filled our center with *L*O*V*E. We couldn't ask for better parents!

This week begins our Community Helpers Unit. The Firetruck will come for a visit on Friday Feb. 18th. This is always a big hit with the children! It also reinforces for them not to be afraid of the firemen if they are ever needed to help them in an emergency. Also planned in the next two weeks are visits from a doctor, the ambulance, and the police department. On march 4th the Care Bears will take a field trip to visit the Fire department, so mark your calendars! More information on that trip will be available soon.

Also upcoming...the Care Bears field trip to see "If You Give a Pig a Pancake" on March 17th.

The first month of the year is in the books, and our children have been busy! We have our final week of Nursery Rhymes and follow it up with a fun Valentine Unit. Take a moment to look at the childrens' work on the classroom walls...learning is so much fun at TLC! Sign up sheets for Valentine Parties will be up on Monday...so sign up for goodies! Parties will be held at 9:00 am if you would like to attend with your child. Parents are always encouraged to join the fun!
